Gay Pride Attack / Jerusalem

On 30 July 2015, only three weeks after being released, Ultra Orthodox Yishai Schlissel stabbed six marchers during the Jerusalem gay pride parade. One of the victims, 16-year-old Shira Banki, died of her wounds three days later. Posters praising the deadly attack appeared in the city’s ultra-Orthodox neighborhoods describing the stabbing as an act of holy ‘self sacrifice’.
